Seaside Adventure: A Trip to Haystack Rock, OR 02-2024

Posted on February 17, 2024December 29, 2024

This trip to the Oregon seaside was a journey filled with misty views, iconic landmarks, and the charm of a small coastal town. Let me take you through the highlights of this unforgettable visit.

The first sight of Haystack Rock was surreal, standing tall amidst the misty shoreline. This iconic monolith, surrounded by smaller sea stacks, was a stunning introduction to Cannon Beach’s beauty. The overcast sky added a mystical ambiance, perfect for introspection or photography.

Getting closer, the sheer size and texture of Haystack Rock became even more impressive. It’s a haven for marine life and birds, especially tufted puffins during the right season. Standing near it, you can truly appreciate its geological grandeur.

To the south of Haystack Rock, The Needles stood proudly amidst the churning surf. These towering sea stacks, shaped by years of erosion, provided a dramatic and picturesque contrast to the calm sandy beach

A charming wooden path led us to the beach. The benches offered a perfect spot to sit and marvel at the vista ahead. This entryway epitomized Cannon Beach’s small-town charm and hospitality.

This quaint alley framed Haystack Rock beautifully, with cozy houses lining the path. The view from here felt like a scene out of a postcard, inviting us to step closer to the water.

The expansive Seaside Beach was a sight to behold, with its endless sandy shoreline stretching toward the horizon. The golden light of the setting sun illuminated the gentle mist rising from the ocean, creating a dreamy and tranquil atmosphere. It was a perfect place for a peaceful stroll or simply soaking in the breathtaking view.

Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock offered more than just breathtaking views; it was an experience steeped in natural beauty and peaceful moments. Whether you’re a photographer, a nature enthusiast, or someone seeking tranquility, this slice of Oregon coastline has something for everyone. Staying in Seaside is a less expensive alternative and offers convenient proximity to Cannon Beach, making it an ideal choice for visitors. Until next time, the Oregon seaside will remain etched in my memory as a serene retreat worth revisiting.
